Travel Stipends

6th International Multiple System Atrophy Congress

We are pleased to announce the availability of travel stipends for Junior Faculty and Young Investigators to attend the 6th International Multiple System Atrophy (MSA) Congress.

Successful candidates will receive complementary registration to the meeting and a $1,000 award towards the costs of travel and accommodation. We have secured special rates at a number of New York City hotels.    

Candidates will be selected by the Scientific Advisory Board on the basis of their track record of MSA research and interest in the disorder. The awards will be available to clinician researchers and basic scientists.    


Junior Faculty/Young Investigators will be defined as candidates who are no more than 7 years out from completion of their terminal degree (i.e., residency/fellowship or Ph.D.) and hold a position no higher than Assistant Professor or equivalent. The selection progress is detailed further in the application.

Candidates should have an interest and track record in multiple system atrophy or synucleinopathy research.

Young investigators at the sites participating in the RDCRN’s Natural History Study of MSA are encouraged to apply. 

Women and persons from underrepresented minority groups are encouraged to apply.

2.     Letter of support from your department/division chair, director, principal investigator or sponsor.

3.     One-page statement of current research interest in MSA and track record of research or involvement in research projects in MSA.

The Scientific Organizing Committee will review applications. Candidates will be ranked according to their productivity in the field of MSA, the novelty of their research, and the economic need of the applicant.
